About Qari Mahmoud Khalil Al Hussary
- Early Life: Mahmoud Khalil Al Hussary was born in Shobra Al Namla, Tanta, Egypt.
- Quranic Education: He entered the Qur’an School at the age of four, memorizing the entire Quran by the age of eight. At twelve, he joined the religious institute at Al Azhar and learned the ten recitations of the Quran.
- Career: Al Hussary began his recitation career at his village mosque. He made his first recitation on the official radio station on February 16, 1944.
- Recognition: In 1948, he became the Muadhin of Sidi Hamza Mosque and later a reciter in the same mosque. He also supervised recitation centers in Al Gharbia province.
- Mosque Appointments: In 1949, he was appointed as the reciter of several mosques in Tanta, including Sidi Ahmed Al Badaoui Mosque and Al Ahmadi Mosque. By 1955, he became the reciter of Al Imam Al Hussein Mosque in Cairo.
- Legacy: Mahmoud Khalil Al Hussary was one of the most esteemed Quran reciters of his time. His life and performances were honored in a television series called “Imam Al Moqr’ine,” starring Hassan Youssef.
