About Qari Maher Al-Mu'aiqly
Maher bin Hamad bin Muhammad Bin alMu’aiqly alBalawi, born on January 7, 1969, is the Imam and preacher of the Grand Mosque of Mecca, Masjid alHaram. He assumed office as the Imam Khateeb of Masjid alHaram on August 9, 2007.
Education and Career:
Graduated from the Teachers College in Madinah, specializing in mathematics.
Holds a master’s degree in the jurisprudence of Imam Ahmad bin Hanbal from the College of Shari’a at Umm alQura University.
Obtained a doctorate in interpretation from Umm alQura University.
Works as an assistant professor in the Judicial Studies Department at the College of Judicial Studies and Regulations at Umm alQura University.
Serves as the Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research.
Imam of Grand Mosque:
Led the sermon of alSaadi Mosque in alAwali district in Makkah alMukarramah.
Led prayers at the Prophet’s Mosque during Ramadan in 1426 AH and 1427 AH.
Led Tarawih and Tahajjud prayers at the Grand Mosque during Ramadan in 1428 AH.
Appointed as an official Imam of the Grand Mosque since 1428 AH.
